Grand in its simplicity
Scala armchair

A new beginning
Years ago, interior architect Erik Munnikhof created the first Scala design. In his search for a timeless product that could be used anywhere, he discovered the rotational molding production technique.
Suddenly, the possibilities seemed endless. Choosing this technique allowed Erik to create large, hollow, yet strong products made from a single piece. This is what gives Scala its double-curved shapes. Over time, the model faded into the background.
Until now. We are breathing new life into the model, in our own way. A second life for a design that has earned its stripes—and this time, leaves none behind.
Waste becomes design
Our Scala is made of 100% recycled polyethylene, sourced from collected artificial turf, fishing nets, and toys. After a careful sorting process, the separated waste is shredded, melted, and poured into a steel mold. Once cut into pellets, 100% pure regranulate remains. Ready for a new life!

How Scala takes shape
A sturdy, seamless armchair that can take a beating: we achieve this thanks to the rotational molding technique. We heat the regranulate and pour it into a rotating mold. The rotation distributes the material evenly across the mold, giving Scala its shape. Thanks to this technique, Scala is manufactured from 100% recycled materials and can be effortlessly recycled again in the future.

Strong character
The Scala is versatile and stays firmly in place, especially if you fill the armchair with water or sand. Thanks to the water-repellent plastic and drainage channel, it is perfectly suited for both indoor and outdoor use. The material is UV-resistant, allowing it to stand firm in temperatures up to 60 degrees. Want more comfort? Choose to add the sustainable cushions.
